Unfortunately, it happens :( Luckily there were no casualties. I imagine the woman was a little shocked though.

It is surprisingly easy for somebody who is confused and disorientated to end up on the wrong carriageway.

You've just reminded me Paul. Many years ago I was a passenger in a car travelling from Sheffield back to Wolverhampton. We came off a roundabout on to what we thought was a dual carriageway. Driver decided to overtake a line of coaches so moved into the right hand lane and sat passing a long line of them. (Just been to a Sheffield Wednesday - Wolves FA Cup night match). To our horror we were confronted with headlamps heading for us. Luckily there was a gap between two coaches which we managed to get it. Dread to think what would have happened, but a collision at around 120mph....

Believe the driver has not been prosecuted, apparently ill.

If there was no offence then there would not be a prosecution Gary. Even then it may not be in the public interest to prosecute.
