Is it worth upgrading from XP and office 2003 to Windows 7 and office 2010?
My laptop is compatible and it will run the x64 version.

Personal view, yes.

For a long time I was using XP at work, and 7 at home, and I prefer 7.

Would I pay a lot for it? Not sure I would. Was a free upgrade with the laptop I bought, but given the choice I prefer it's interface.

Office takes a bit more getting used to as many of the menus have changed significantly. For example in Excel, to insert a row / column I would expect to use the 'insert' tab and find the right item, but it's elsewhere. Saying that been using office 2010 proper since mid December and I'm quite happy with the change.

The kids schools are changing over or have changed.
I think work will be a few more years yet.
The price is good and it works out cheaper to buy three upgrades discs for the pro version rather than the Home premium 3 user home option
