Which fuse by PaulT

PaulT
Away from home and no manual with me and a lights failure.

However, both the nearside front and rear bulbs went at the same time so I am thinking fuse.

On a 2001 Tourer where would the fuse be located?

Thanks

According to my handbook, the only fuse for "exterior lights" (aside from fogs) is Number 40, which is 5A and in the glovebox fuse box! HTH!

Thanks Dave - so as the offside are still working it must be both bulbs gone at once and not a fuse.

Pretty sure it's an unfortnate coincidence as I'm fairly sure all lighting is protected by the chips in the light switch module.

I'll check the manual and confirm in a minute.

Edit:

there are two big 50A ones in the underbonnet, but you would lose more than a couple of sidelights if one of these went.

The only other two fuses are ignition feeds, so not sidelight related since these can be on with ignition off.

So likely to be a twin bulb failure. It can happen.

Thanks Duncan

I was assuming that each side would be separately fused.

Would be something catastrophic if the 50A fuses went!

Still, makes a change to it being the dipped beam bulb
