Does anybody know how a voicemail can be left without an initial phonecall please?

I'm finding quite a few spams that leave said voicemail without a linked call.

I'm wondering what the dodge is.

If you have the number reported as spam in your phone it diverts to voicemail with no call. I have about 30 numbers reported and registered to the TPS to try and stop it!

Thanks David. That makes sense. The trouble is, when you try to ring the number which has left the voice mail it cancels after a few rings so you can't tell them to take you off the mailing list, as it were.

Not sure on that. Some of the numbers that have called me have come through on 07 numbers but asked me to call them on 08 numbers.

Maybe the number doesnt accept incoming calls? I avoid ringing and answering text messages in case it makes it worse as they know they have a working number.

If your phone is out of signal it can do the same too.

Thanks chaps.

I've Googled the originating number and it's like a rash all over the place. Definitely dodgy.
