Just been watching Heroes of WW2 the 'Dolittle' raid on Tokyo. This bombing mission was carried out by North American B25 Mitchell twin engined medium bombers. During the programme footage used to illustrate these aircraft comprised of the Consolidated B24 four engined long range bomber.

So exactly what was the 'military advisor' doing to earn his fee on this programme?

Sadly such errors seem to be very commonplace these days.

Cheers

Tell me about it Mike. On one of the digi channels, Movies for Men(?) they have a constant re-run of the War at Sea. So inaccurate it should be taken to court, but hey would suspect it is made in the States so????

IIRC didn't they take off from carriers? Would love to see a Liberator heavy bomber try a take off from carrier of that era???

Can (sort of) understand a film changing things, artistic licence and all that, but for a historical documentary; unforgivable.

Even some of the science and technology programs get it so wrong these days.
