We all drive MG Rovers, some of us have 75s
Others of us have ZTs, these cars we keep alive
We often go to mini meets to see each other's cars
And sort out any issues, and to try the local bars
These cars they are our pride and joy, we keep them very clean
We wash and polish them all the time, which makes them look pristine
However they aren't perfect, there are things that do go wrong
And if you'll stay and listen I'll go through them in this song
Now those of us with diesels, well we get a lot of stick
People say they're kinda slow, when in fact they're rather quick
That Beemer engine really is a cracking diesel lump
Now if only we weren't worrying about the in-tank pump...
The V6 engine's really great, it's very, very quick
But when your cambelts need a change, you'll be feeling pretty sick
The garage bill is through the roof, and that much is a fact
And you should really pray that your VIS (Variable Intake System) motors stay intact...
The 1.8 is excellent, a classic through and through
But if you have a 1.8 there's one thing you must do.
You need to learn to drive it right so it will last an age
One eye focused on the road, and one on the temp gauge...
Everyone should know about the extra reservoir,
Which was fitted as a standard item on every single car
It's referred to as the "plenum" and if you fail to rod it through
It'll fill right up with water and screw up your ECU (Engine Control Unit)...
But despite these little foibles, which sometimes make us blue
We love our cars and find their reputation isn't true
Watch us when we're driving, and the evidence is clear
On each and every one of us, a grin from ear to ear!
