The Four Ashes Rides again ! by Trebor (Page 2 of 2)

It's an enormous, if not impossible task to get the Four Ashes up and running again. After every closure it will be even more difficult for a new tenant.

Then there is the location. Although perfect for a Nano, it isn't that good for a pub. There are no potential regular customers who live nearby and can just walk home after having a few pints.

All this is bad enough, but then there is COVID-19 on top.

So it's time to find an alternative for the next Nano season, which starts next spring - hopefully (fingers crossed). I know that you local guys are already looking into it. You'll find a solution to keep the Nano Meets alive.

Planning is an unnatural process, much better to just get on with things, that way failure comes as a complete surprise instead of being preceeded by a period of worry and doubt

All of the big events have been canceled this year (for obvious reasons). But small meets are currently possible, Rob.

For the time being we intend to keep the number of participants low. This evening, for example, just three of us met at a restaurant. We know the owner and he takes things seriously.
