Tailgate windscreen wiper motor by Bermudan 75

My thanks to to Lyndon, Duncan and Steve who pointed me in the right direction with my hammer and chisel on removing the rear wiper spindle from the glass. The spindle has been thoroughly cleaned and reassembled. This now moves freely as it should do.

I checked fuse 42 (Rear wiper fuse) and replaced the blown fuse. Turned on the rear wiper and nothing happened.

So am I correct to assume that the next thing to do is to replace the motor? The reason I ask is that the replacement fuse did not blow. I would have thought that it would have blown if the motor was switched on again, and was siezed up?

Check for power at the motor first. It could be a number of things.

No, there's a switch on the stalk so you can put them on yourself.

Now fixed. I replaced the motor with a second hand unit from ebay, £31 delivered.

The original motor had burnt out, probably due to the spindle having been seized.
