Anyone who is familiar with older Rover and Triumph cars and also the Range Rover will know who Spen King is.

Sadly, I have just read that he has died, the result of an accident when riding his pushbike and a van.

aronline.co.uk has the story and a little about him.

As far as I am aware he was the last link to the glory days of the old Rover factory at Solihull.

A very sad loss, the UK has lost another superb designer / engineer from a generation when metal bashing was considered to be a career and a vocation.

Sadly we will never see again the innovative engineering and design that was so commom place in the post war years upto the late 1970's early 1980's.
