I'm not averse to helping people out.

I'm quite prepared to spend time and be a little out of pocket because that's all part of being a community member.

I'm sorry though, it really gripes when you manufacture something, including finding and buying the parts, then post it free of charge and you don't even get an acknowledgement that it did the job, much less a thank you :mad1:

I know we shouldn't expect thanks but I for one would never dream of not doing so.

I would hope there is a good reason for the lack of communication.

Maybe it's just the busy lives we lead today, but I completely understand where you are coming from.

Common courtesy is the like the oil of society, it keeps things running smoothly and stops things from overheating.

Hopefully a word of thanks will arrive at some point...

Cheers

I must say, sometimes all I ask for is a thankyou for things that really should cost, usually get one but always feel as if I've wasted my time when I don't

Unfortunately I find this attitude to be generally in the ascendancy today, in a world now focused on 'me and now', fueled by advertising inciting selfishness, and the suggestion that being polite is a weakness.

I have good cause to be grateful to many members on here for their generosity, particularly Paul and Duncan, whose specialised knowledge has doubtlessly extended my years with the 75.

I represent as a Fund Trustee, pensioners from one of my previous employers. I find helping them in diminished circumstances also develops my attitude to adversity. The pleasure in seeing someone's lonely life regenerated by the mere extension of knowledge is very uplifting too.

A quality many people with narcissistic profiles, will never experience ...

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” John Fitzgerald Kennedy

It cost nothing to say thank you.But it does mean something to the person you say it to,especially if you mean it.

All it cost is a second of our time.I hope that we all have that time in 75 MG ZT Community.

Helping one another and appreciating the help of our members is what part of this Forum is about. At lest I hope it is or am I wrong !!!.

We all feel better when someone says THANK YOU.

I bet you’ll feel embarrassed Paul when whoever it was gives you a nice surprise present to thank you at Christmas!
