rover75 connie wont start by chunky1942

Hi I am new to this club I have a rover 75 connie diesel havnt driven for three days went to start car traction control warning light came up and stayed on engine just turned over but would not start anyone got any ideas. Have read about traction control actuator but when I looked for mine on the boulkhead all that was there was three studs but no actuator thanks chunky.

No actuator on the diesels, only the V6.

Have you checked the plenum drains? It's the diesels that are most likely to get the engine ECU (Engine Control Unit) flooded with bad consequences. If not check all the power feeds to the engine ECU, as the traction light would come on if the traction ECU (part of the ABS (Antilock Braking System)) doesn't get the right messages from the engine ECU.

Thank you Duncan I will check this out. I have to say I did notice water under the brake master cylinder.

Thats not good news. Get the plenum drained quickly and you might be lucky. But do it now. Right now.

to late ecu wet removed ecu sent it to a company called fixem in ivybridge devon had it back in five days including weekend back in car and running not to bad cost £178 delivered chunky
