I would not use any engine flush on my cars it's not good it can move particles and block ports etc, always best to change the oil more regular say twice a year, Autumn and spring what ever mileage you have done.

Change the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve) filter then maybe every 18 months i do mine every 12 months for the sake of £10

thank you for the reply
now what i have noticed is that the oil cooler is full of old engine oil and the oil filter housing so when an oil change is made that old oil then mixes with the fresh oil so is it best to take the oil cooler off to clean or not and in my way of thinking there may be small bits in that oil and can block the oil ways

Hi David.
Personally i would not disturb the oil cooler, that in itself could create problems you do not want, sometimes the seals can flatten and introduce coolant mixture into the oil then you would need to remove it, otherwise leave it alone, make sure the PCV filter is changed that is more important.

change the oil twice a year if you can if not make sure it is done every 12 months without fail and the engine should serve you well, I know of one engine having done 450,0000 miles only ever had super market diesel in it, but regular oil changeds still on the same injectors.
