Rover 75 2.0 CDTi 2004 ECU Question by greenymick123

greenymick123
Hi all, I have several problems with my Central Locking, the boot will not open tried changing the lock mechanism to no avail, key fobs do not operate the locking but works when put in the drivers door lock, i have seen a set of ECUs for sale for a diesel 2004 2.00 cdti, would this be a straight swap and fit or would something need recoding. Thanks.

I would think that you are a long way from changing ECUs just yet :) I suspect that the fobs may just need re-synching or re-introducing with a T4 (Testbook version 4.Computer Diagnostic System).

The fobs also have a habit of the switches inside coming off. Do you see the little red light on the fobs when you press the button?

I think a T4 check is still advisable before changing anything.

Yes i agree, but finding a T4 near me seems nigh impossible, i live about 25 miles North of Lancaster just in to North Yorkshire a small Market Town called Bentham....

BigRuss is not too far away I think. OR if you attend a nano-meet, there are usually two T4 operators and it won't cost you anything :)
