A very sad day. One of the funniest men of the modern era. RIP Rik

Lord Flashheart was the same age as me :-o A heck of a lot funnier though.

My band of heroes dwindles yet further, when the likes of Terry Wogan seem to go on ad infinitum :(

So long mate, and thanks for all the laughs.

Couldn't believe this and only 56, hard to pick a favourite character but always loved Alan B'stard based on a Tory backbencher, most of his antics have probably come true since !

Alan: You're having an affair with him, aren't you?
Sarah: Of course I'm not, Alan. I mean he's fat and flabby, and, uh, he's got horrible greasy hair!
Alan: Didn't stop you with Nigel Lawson, did it?

Planning is an unnatural process, much better to just get on with things, that way failure comes as a complete surprise instead of being preceeded by a period of worry and doubt

Never liked his early stuff, but I think Tony Blair based himself on on Alan B'Stard, but Rik Myal was more genuine and would have got my vote......

RIP we have lost a genuine talent.

My age group too. Very said, a very funny man.

Loved what Ade Edmondson said about him; "selfish b....."
