Restoring Headlights by Raistlin

I've heard one or two people saying that the plastic headlights on our cars can be brought back to "as new" condition.

Now, as somebody averse to rubbing abrasive into my headlight lenses, I was just wondering if anybody has managed to get their lights restored and if so, what is the best product?

I've seen some doubtful solutions involving toothpaste, avocado and bodily fluids but would appreciate information from those who have had positive results please.

Thanks for any advice :)

Did mine last week, scary roughing up your headlights :( If anything i was not brave enough with the roughest abrasive disk and not got all the marks out.
I used this kit

( I also picked some waterproof masking tape to qualify for free postage ;)
Takes around 20 mins a side, clear instructions and loads of youtube vids.

Managed it without removing the bumper and just masked off. it has definitely improved the lenses finish for sure , may have a braver go next week :)

Did mine with Meguiars 'Plastic X' Dead easy, even by hand.
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.
