The open button on the key fob of my ZT has split, so I swapped with the spare changed the battery and all is good. Knowing the price of new ones I checked out t'internet and obtained a replacement fob only with uncut blade swapped the internals over as well as the original blade and opened and closed the car with now problem, but it will not turn over. Key turns in ignition and dash lights up, but nothing else. Swapped everything back and it works fine, all I've done is changed the fob itself but no joy. Surely it doesn't need to be reprogrammed? Does it??

did you swap the small black transponder over too its in the other side of the lid, small black box, and without it the improviser wont disengage

Now off to have a look.

Yes it will be that. Looks like a silicon chip with no legs and one corner cut off. DON't lose it.

Well there it was popped, it out and I dropped it.

Thankfully found it swapped it over and it works.
