I've said this in private, but maybe it's time to invite comment.

There's a balance in managing and / or leading anything, between inspiring a following, and demanding it.

If you get it wrong, you can end up with an organisation that is in trouble. At that point you can choose to change, or die.

Sad thing is, I came across this in my working life before. There used to be a car manufacturer that was in trouble, but they changed and started to make some fantastic cars. Unfortunately the management got arrogant and stopped listening, and lots of people blamed everybody else for the problem, when in truth there was a problem with the basic way it was being run.

Now, here's something a bit deep. Ever heard of the Mary Rose? If you look at the background, it was sunk because the King was arrogant enough to decide he knew better than his Ship Designers, and then while out at sea the wind changed and the rest is history.

You can get away with arrogance, but when there's a change in the wind...... Happened to that well known but dead car company.

This is what I don't understand, and as you say, the two top greens have managed so far to avoid answering it. It is stated, quite abruptly in post 13 http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s ... 862&page=2, that they are still welcome to be members of the club? How can that be if they are banned?

As far as I could make out, forming that forum is exactly what the directors did to separate from the .org site.

I still haven’t seen an explanation from your point of view lads, is there going to be one forthcoming?

As I have membership to both forums all I can say is, twice the expertise, twice the fun!

All the best with your new endeavour.

Pete.

Only one question Peter. Who is Pete?

Well maybe two. He and his fellow director have no idea whatsoever why I made the decision to set up another forum or what the initial modus operandi was., so far out of touch. If they did we would still be moderating the Owners club forum and running this as a private back room to the club with 20-30 personally invited friends. There is only one person who knows all the reasons why and the subsequent cause of the fallout. Funny how nobody has bothered to ask. Perhaps they are all to aware of the truth of the matter or just simply don't care. I'm in the simply don't care camp or maybe couldn't care less. :) :).
Where I come from, "don't ask don't want".
We do not feel the need to justify ourselves, offering this place to visit is justification enough.

Well I know Moa is definitely extinct it was all those suits they made from the hair that did for them.

Regarding the welcome packs over on Owners Club site Pete has stated;

There are over 10k registered members, and over 1k subscribed members - just in case you thought the club was making a hundred grand a year, it's not!

In fact, when you consider the costs involved in running the forums, site software, insurance, restoring S525OVP, and the welcome pack, there's very little left over.

So i asked the following;

So what do we get in the welcome pack
Tax disc holder
Sticker
Membership card - what if any discounts will this card give us for our £10 a year

As for S520 OVP what do the subscribed members get in return, an update once in a blue moon, who owns said vehicle and what are its plans for the future

If the replacements are anything like the originals you won't want to stick them on your car :gmc:
and also beware the super glue removes the heating elements on removal. :em:

This always baffles me

I run two very, very small forums and they cost around £8 each for two years for the name, and £20 per year for the hosting

So, if I ran one forum, it would cost £4 per year for the name, £20 for the hosting therefore £24 a year......

For that kind of money you won't get a dedicated server, which is an advantage when hosting a big forum. But if you pay that per month, not per year, it will still be cheap considering the 1,000 paying members (even at £3 ;)).

I had one of the first ones, small size. I could remove it from the rear screen by pulling it very, very slowly. But the small one was small enough not to cover any part of the heating elements.

Do you mean the originals Jürgen as stocked in the shop?
As the newer ones are quite large (no option for a small one) and also have a nasty glue on them.

Yes, John, I think it has been a sticker from the first batch. Or at least a very early one. Just a bit glue, but only at its rim, has been left at the window. I'll remove these remains when I clean the windows from inside next time.

Don't know, but I think so.

In my case it had been a prompt but conscious decision. ;)

Regarding the stickers.

Theres a product around that I've yet to see fail to help in these situations. It's called label remover and seems to diisolve any sticky tape kind of substance you care to name. It affects some kinds of plastics (some clear plastics, I think polystyrene) but otherwise is a brilliant product.

The really odd thing is that in spite of being around for years, not many people have ever used it. I first used it to remove gaffer tape (also known as gaucheron tape in some circles) from a development car that had been covered in the stuff to disguise it just prior to launch.

Yes, it was a 75. In fact the blue one used in many of the launch photos! Also had to remove a dirty great lump of wood from the suspension placed there for some unknown reason.

I reccomend getting hold of some of this stuff and using it to dissolve the glue. I will be using it on the early sticker from the club as the inkjet printer ink has faded to look like shite. Oh, that and the fact that I've moved on!

Thanks for the hint Duncan.
For the latest ones just don't attempt a gentle peel.
Using the normal heat method didn't help much but made a nice mess.
Now all removed.
