No such thing as 'bad' language.... :D Just language used inappropriately for the situation / circumstances. I doubt very much that will happen here....after all..look at our strap-line....'Rover 75 and MG ZT Automotive Carriages for the thinking person' :D

I'm sure that it won't degenerate into a sweary place - I know we are all to "couth"......

I guess it's just nice to know that if the odd one slips through (as previously highlighted) it's not going to be jumped on. Whilst we need to remain as gentlemen, I'm sure we also don't need to be prudes!

Well I wish you all of the best, I just made a :unionflag: comment about the poor standards of written English on other site and a mod quoted my post and made a derogatory comment about my post and then closed the thread. I thought Stalin, Hitler and Moa et al were dead?

Might have been your post on the forum going downhill since the loss of the 4 mods! Rather than your spelling post. Well thats what they are quoting.

Just like to say I thought they did the right thing....I do not believe attempts at stirring up trouble over there are in anybody's interests....they are doing the job because they care about the members, that should always be the priority and I salute them for doing it.

Freedom of speech has therefore been removed from other side.

However that aside, look at the success of the Wolves nano-meets, I attend my local Triumph meet, both are about people who are passionate about their cars getting together.

If the Triumph 2000/2.5/2500 Register with just 800 members nationwide have a PLI to cover all local and national meets, why does the 75/ZT OC not have the same?

It is not a club run for the benefit of the members but a club run for the convenience of the management. (As a Limited Company has anyone seem the accounts?).

I may well agree with aspects of that....that said, making life difficult for the mods...who are members and volunteers remember..and who do not get a say as to what the limited Company does...is not the way to change things at all...why alienate the very people who attend meets? What the management do or do not do over there is an entirely separate matter and should not be confused with either the mods nor the members. Freedom of speech in this context is neither here nor there...a sense of responsibility to fellow members maybe should be the uppermost consideration..

Are you saying unless you have a great standard of written English you should not post.
I do hope not, as a member over there for 3 years no one has picked me up on my spelling which im sure is not right all the time and will be the same on here.
you may be better at written English then other members, but it may be the member that is not that good with written English that helps you get your car working.

:mad1: i tend to get very :mad1: when folk pick up on spelling  . when you have a level of dyslexic to you it is not easy to write stuff and mrs starbug is for ever being asked how to spell ......... it can be very very :hissyfit: sometimes to write stuff or think of what to write , spell checkers help no end.

i have not noticed much negative comments about such stuff on the other forum and would be  if such happened in a bad way :window:

Well said - the best statement I've read about the whole issue. I expect I'll visit here from time to time. I think I'll post the same questions to all three sites and see if I get different answers from the same people!

Consistency is all.... ;) The people running this forum have already publically given their support to their replacements...can't say fairer than that.. :)

The problem with criticising spelling or grammar, of course, is that when one sets oneself up as the Police, the inevitable fall from grace is longer and more damaging ;)

All one needs to do is understand what is meant, surely?

This was a post I put on the other side, wonder how long it will stay there

Likewise, the tax disc holder and sticker, even have the wrong website on them, but theres been no word of these being replaced with the correct ones,
Also the glue on those stickers can cause damage to the heating element, and should of been replaced because of that reason, and much as I dont want to fall out with the management, I do think paying £10 for the subs, was quite a jump, from £3, and it was meant to look good as you got tax disc holder and sticker, for your money, and they are useless as they werent printed properly,
from information Ive read when it was brought to certain members attention, that the sticker can cause damage, the response was basically tough, I did expect better from that individual, and we felt very badly let down,
yes the £10 is voluntary, but if you want to go onto all areas you do need to pay the £10, so if your reason for joining was to get help with your car, youd need to pay the £10, and yes we all know theres a good chance you,ll save more than £10 in the help you,ll be given, but to be told you,ll get a pack when most people still havent received them, and the sticker and tax disc are useless, to be honest ,its a bit of a let down,
and as freedom of speech seems to have disappeared from this forum, I fully expect this to be deleted,

Oh, I don't think it will be deleted Heather, I believe they have realized the futility of doing that now ;(

You see, your point is equally as valid and as damning as mine so It seems to me that their tactic is to refuse to make any attempt to answer either question, presumably because there is no answer that would defend their actions, ignore the rest of it and just rely on people saying "please can we move on", and wait for the controversial posts to disappear from the first page and the thread to die the death of all threads.

If I could summon up the energy, I might be tempted to ponder why that was ;)

Exactly Paul! One question that has not yet been answered and I believe is at the root of all this unrest is Why did Christopher & Pete Ban the 75&ZT owners clubs 4 moderators ?

To my mind there is a problem with this statement. The mods, who will be doing the job with all the best intent, however, the ex mods who have set up this site were obviously unhappy with the management of the so called club which is a limited company. The company has not delivered - they have not delivered on the £10 subscription deal. The new mods are supporting the directors and it seems that the deletions are stopping. Only allowing what you want people to see and removing anything else is the tactics of people like Mugabee.

Would be interesting to get the accounts from Company House to see what they have to say.

Yes, I liked the other site - it was informative. However, this site is new and therefore not many posts. In my opinion this site does have a good feel. Perhaps this is the result of admin seeing how it was done and deciding how it should be. The modern gang of four
