Country Classics in Wiltshire had one for sale for a long time, with the lovely Honda V6 engine, it ended up selling for just under £890, wish I'd had the money and space for it!! :( :(

There's a Sterling version for sale in the latest Practical Classics for £1350

Wish I had £1350.....

I looked for a decent 827 Coupe for ages without success but then this came up at the right price

It had the later 3.2 Honda engine which they wouldn't let Rover have.

It went against the grain somewhat but I thought Honda was OK because at least their relationship with Rover was productive.

I had a lot of enjoyment from it but sold it when i got the V8.
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

It's the Honda Legend 2 door Coupe, the earlier version of which shared many parts with the Rover. Honda took it a stage further and the engine/gearbox is an absolute delight. I was very sorry to part with it but could not justify two 'toys'.

The guy who bought it from me only brought it back on Friday for the LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) system to be serviced. It's still looking good and running well.

As a young lad, I was brought up with SD1 V8's as my dad used to run a restoration business doing SD1's and Stags just outside York.

We then had a late 820 Sport Vitesse fastback in Nightfire Red and to this day one of the best looking cars we've had - rather quick too!

I was also brought up on Rovers! When my dad had the chance to get a brand new car when he was teaching in Germany in 1969 (when I was 7) he narrowed the choice to BMW or Rover. Luckily he chose the latter and drove back to the UK to collect it! :D This was a 2000 SC in Corsica Blue, which he kept for about 10 years IIRC. After this followed three more P6's, then three SDI's, then an 820 hatch, and then another 820, this time a saloon in the aforementioned Nightfire red. He kept this too long to be honest, as it was carted away for scrap, He then got a 25 which was too small for him (and also got written off when some scummy b*stards deliberately drove in front of him at a roundabout and then braked, ready to drive off all fit and well after exchanging insurance details only to have whiplash verified by a dodgy doctor first thing next morning....  )

His final Rover was a 45, which was OK in itself, but never as loved as his P6's SDI's or 820's! Eleven Rovers all in, plus two I have had at the same time (an 827 and the current 75)

Oops. That's 13......
