Thanks Paul. I had seen them, but a bit strong price wise for my pockets - Gary

You will need some wiring too. A set on the bay for £15 right now.

Thanks for the suggestion Duncan. Fortunately Raistlin (Paul) has already agreed to make up the wiring for me

I have the loom (as kindly supplied by Raistlin) but was hoping for a bit more than that! I'm in no rush to sell, so will understand if this is as high as you want to go! :D

The price of powerfolds has always been rather high, would it be the possible to source the mirror motors and convert a non folding mirror?

The various thoughts on this suggest that the motors are the same for both skull and bullet mirrors and can be easily retro-fitted. Trouble is finding a supplier of the motors

I think Duncan may have found out who the supplier was.

I found the supplier of the mirror adjust unit, Magna (it says on it, easy really). No idea at all if they supplied the whole unit or powerfold part but I don't think they did. I never really researched the powerfold bit, I was just looking to see if we could add memory function to the mirrors.

Presumably that would be Magna International Inc. of Canada. According to what's on the internet and on their web site, they own the 'Powerfold' trademark and supply mirrors, and many other things, to BMW and to many other motor manufacturers. Apparently they assemble the Mini Countryman for BMW in Austria. On the Mini website, Powerfolds are listed as an option.

Have contacted Magna about this and will update as and when I get a reply from them

Magna are a very big supplier to the automotive industry, branches all over the world. I hope you get a positive repsonse from them and well done for giving it a go. Which 'bit' did you write to as I suspect one of the European bits is most likely the supplier of the mirror motors.

They may own the powerfold trademark, and may well be the supplier of the 75/ZT ones, but there are other suppliers too.

I wrote to their UK office but also found the name of the company big wig responsible for the powerfold range. If I get no response from the UK then I will try him !

Good on you for the work on this, I'm sure there is a high demand for these motors.
