After having a look on the site it looks like an insteresting idea and a novel way of getting support for what will be a costly task. I also like the idea of the organisation offering the aircraft to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, although I doubt that will happen.
They've managed to get hold of a significant amount of an airframe and it's identity. RL249 which crash landed in 1949 shortly after take off due to engine failure and caught fire. It was then buried in the field where it crahsed until 2006 when it was recovered!
It's obivously going to be a slow process and I hope it works out.
