I hate and detest football. I make no secret of the fact but under normal circumstances I don't venture any opinion.

However, apparently, fans are being offered counseling... because Gerrard is leaving Liverpool.

Gosh that must have been more than their poor fragile psyches can stand.

I wonder what people who have undergone real mental trauma view that?

Wonder who instigated that - counsellors? Seems to be a growth industry.

Always amuses me when the 'fans' slag off a player when they go to another club - football is an industry, the players workers moving from one job to another normally because the pay is better.

Amuses me as well when bankers are criticised for their pay yet not a word about the weekly play of the top players - no wonder the cost of getting in to a game is so high.

You may have detected that my love of football would equate to my love of Trabants.
