According to the radio this morning he shot himself at 1am this morning.

He was surrounded by Police Marksmen on a river bank - negotiators tried for 6 hours to talk him out of taking his own life

Have to admit I never thought this would end with him being brought in alive, unfortunately

me neither, I thought he would have pointed the gun at police so they would have shot him.

Its been a funny atmosphere around here while this has been going on, at least we can get back to some kind of normality now

Good riddance, a few quid to stick him in a box in an unmarked spot and forgotten. No keeping him for the next forty years at tax payers expense.SORTED!

Zojosc I agree with the sentiment of what you have said.

However, for the victims, and their familes, it is much harder for them to get over what has happened without the court case and justice being seen to be served.

It is for them I am sorry it ended this way.

Dunno if that's true, as a victims of an attack years back, both my wife and I would have been only too happy had the perpetrator shot himself and preferably bled slowly and painfully to death, instead of the 'justice' that was meted out.

One dead, two seriously injured, and a mad man threating to shoot all he comes into contact with.

Out of the woodwork pops a washed out ex footballer with his finger on a self destruct button, numerous family and friends and johnny-do-gooders to point a finger at the police for not offering him a day out by the seaside.

Has this country gone totally mad or wot?

All us law abiding, upright citizens that contribute to this once great Island should leave forethwith and the last one out switch the light out and leave the rest of these idiots to rot in the dark.

I thought his brothers comments that he could have got him to give up if he had been allowed to talk to him and that he had mental problems in feeling unwanted. His brother also said that they had not spoken for years, so he did not want him
