Evening all,

In the new year I'm looking to buy 4 new tyres, the size I'm looking for are 225 - 45 - 17" as theses are to go on my set of starspokes. As normal I'm after a budget set but still offer good grip I only do about 5000 miles a year.

Now do i go for a set 2nd hand set of the good brands with about 4/5mm tread.

I have see a new set of Neuton NT5000 which seem to get a half decent write up and a set on the bay are at £230.

So what do you guys think ?

If you can get them, I can recommend Federal Super Steel 595's. Had them on many cars and really good, usually about 200 a set from all new tyres in Chesterfield

Cheers Jake, the federal's look ok and get a good review but I can't see anywhere round me that sell them, only found a few places on the web but by the time you add postage they work out quite dear.
