I always consider it but can never go through with it! Missed some great things that way but not that sort of a person!

Ohh what if you were actually kidnapped though? I'm sure James would go through with that sort of thing quite easily ;)

Leaking light clusters this winter badly warped the hardboard cover over the 'spare wheel' compartment. After trawling breakers for weeks and finding all replacements redolent to the rear end of a cello; I decided to substitute the boarding with new.

I had an offcut of marine ply (6mm depth) cut to the exact size (965mm x 850mm). So far, so good. If you've ever looked at this item, it needs shaping out for the lift handle to fit. Also the outer contours are not straight, so they need modifying in a couple of places - (see my photo for ease).
So I emailed 11 carpentry / woodworking shops to ask if they could cut the bits out/off utilising the current board template.

After 9 days, I've not had a single reply, so much for work hungry artisans in the recession, whoops, stagflation!

I have a power pad saw, un powered pad saws, Electric drills, fret saws, new chisels, club hammer etc, but lack the ability to carry out the task.

If anyone can help, I'd appreciate your expertise on the 17th please?

In return you can have another 965 x 850 blank, just in case yours looks like a banana too!

Martin

I reckon it would be well worth adding a coupl of support battens too. With a spacesaver spare, there's nothing to hold the panel up in the middle so they get saggy if you carry anything of any substance.

A couple of bits of 30 x 20 or similar, glued and screwed, would give extra locating features to stop it sliding, and make it musch less prone to turning into a musical instrument, as Martin decribes it.

Sounds like we might need a few of them the way this is going. Stand for working on seats. Stand for the T4 (Testbook version 4.Computer Diagnostic System). Stand for cutting boot floor panels......

On that subject, I've been trying to think of a suitable trolley / stand for the T4. I have the proper trolley but it's in the loft and is too big and heavy for bringing to meets. I did look at folding tea trolleys, but think they would be too low, and the wheels would be no good for the surfaces.

So while we are sorted for this meet, anyone any bright ideas on something suitable, and cheap?

What about the sort of thing bar-be-ques get wheeled about on? You just need to find an old one somewhere and remove the BBQ part and weld or bolt on a suitable platform for the laptop to sit on. Any good?

Hi Guys -will be at the meet and hoping someone might be able to help me with a problem I'm having with a rear door lock.
Once locked with fob will not unlock with fob nor with key in door, nor with interior lock/unlock button. Only releases manually from inside. Also, does not lock with speed locking.
Any suggestions (about the lock!) greatly received!
Tony (Ben's Dad!)
