Hi all I have a 1.8 16v with no message centre fitted, can I just but a cluster with message centre and fit it or do I need it hooked up to a T4 (Testbook version 4.Computer Diagnostic System)?.

It needs to go on a T4. And be careful you can't just buy a used one of the bay, it needs to be a new one. There are some people who can reset a used one to new ready for matching.

and don't you need the the IPK (Instrument pack (IPK from the German)) stalk?
Yes, you need the stalk with the switch, or another switch somewhere.
