Lincolnshire Rover 75 & MG ZT Owners meet – Springfields Par by RichardGarner (Page 1 of 2)

Sunday 18th of November 2012. (1000-1600hrs)

Having noticed a lack of meets in the Lincolnshire area, I’ve gone ahead and organised a meet at Springfields Park and Gardens in Spalding. :)

Offering a wide range of shops and attractions, I thought Springfields would be a great venue that the whole family can go to – with plenty for the family to do whilst we sit and talk cars!

We will be parked in their arena area on the events venue side of the site. For those who don’t know about the place, more can be found at: http://www.springfieldsgardens.co.uk/

The event will also coincide with the launch of their winter wonderland and Christmas grotto.

Although there will be no charge for the event, we’ve been asked to make a donation towards the Springfield charity, so a bucket will be going around on the day.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll post more details up including a potential convoy there. :-D

Directions:
FROM THE NORTH

Turn off the A1 at Newark and follow the A17, at Sutterton follow the A16 to Spalding. Follow the brown signs to Springfields
FROM THE SOUTH

Turn off the A1 at Stamford and take the A16 East to Spalding. Follow the brown signs to Springfields

If you are travelling using Sat Nav the postcode is: PE12 6EU.

This has got to be one of the nicest meet venues going....really nice spot, plenty to see and stuff to do for the kids....including a play barn and outdoor climbing area, radio controlled boats and dinosaur golf (whatever that is!). Nice selection of shops and places to eat....and gravel / tarmac hard standing for the cars..and fantastic free gardens too!

As it's only 27 miles from here, I may well turn up all being well.
Is anybody else going?

Just to confuse matters
TOM TOM and Google maps show the road from Stamford to Spalding as being the A1175 whereas:-
Streetmaps indicates it is the A16

The main Stamford to Spalding road is indeed the A16! (and thence to Boston, Louth and Grimsby)

As I suspected Streetmaps is correct and TOMTOM /Googlemaps are wrong.

Daft question, but does anyone know which entrance we're supposed to use?

Well the weather was kind to us!

Both Mrs D and myself had a most enjoyable day, meeting friends old and new! :)

I would post some pictures, but I'm blowed if I can get photobucket to work! :(
