High pressure injector pump failure by chunkybray

chunkybray
My cdti suddenly stopped and would not start.Had it towed home and after a good look found that diesl was leaking from the high pressure pump.
My question is can it be removed with the engine in situ and are any special tools required?
Any advice gladly accepted.

Just to clarify, do you mean the pump that actually feeds the common rail? If so, then I am afriad I don't know. Sorry :em:

Where about's is it leaking?

If it's from the pressure regulator end, there's no need to remove the pump to repair.

Yes ,unfortunately for me.
I am guessing it my be driven by the timing chain, so I hope it can be removed without taking the chain off.

It appears to be leaking from underneath the pump itself.
