K-Seal: http://www.coolantrepair.com/K-Seal/p356750_916820.aspx

Basically similar to radweld but specifically for Head Gasket leaks.

My logic for this is simple, the Gasket hasn't failed yet, so would be nice to give myself chance to buy all the bits I need first, as the Belts are due for changing now too etc. Thought it might be a good time to swap over the Coolant hoses for new ones - So any grace in time is a good thing.

I have looked on the Net and found a few car sites that owners have claimed to use this product with great success - So could be promising.

Has anyone used this or a similar product with success?

I have seen it used very effectively on several occasions.
The grannies will stop their knitting and come out and tell you all sorts of scare stories though.
May be worthwhile flushing out the coolant a week after using 'just in case'

ps. I know a few car dealers who put this in every car they sell, regardless of HGF (Head Gasket Failure) or no. ;)
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

Hello Carl,

I used it because I had a HGF. The fluid is rather black and you have to wait what the result are after raising the temperature. The fluid is full with ceramic and copper parts and it worked. After I filled the radiator and drove a few days with it, the car stopped leaking. Amazing! But I changed the HG anyway because the cooling fluid changes in a kind of sludge.

Anyway, that gives you some time to get all the parts you need for changing th HG. See my thread at "How To fix a HGF"

Good luck with it!

Regards Ralph

Cheers Ralph.

One quick question, how long did you use it in the cooling system before doing you Head Gaskets?

Regards,
Carl.
