... one of these that I could beg or buy please?

It's the clip which holds the operating arm of the auto-levelling front sensor

The clip shown within the red circle on the photograph below

Thanks :)

I don't have one, but I am assuming that that is something to do with the self-levelling of the Xenon lights?

Just thought that might help someone to help you??

Not an easy thing to get I seem to recall. Mine broke when replacing the lower arm (the suspension bar it us attached to) so we araldited it in place along with a couple of zip ties for good measure. A bit Heath Robinson but it's (touch wood) stayed put since it was done last November. :)

Is it springy steel Simon? I don't have one at all. Not even a broken one.

I think it was springy steel at some point in its life, unfortunately they become brittle against the aluminium arm and kind of corrode in place. Sometimes you can have some success in removing them but if you have not got one at all then you may be able to fashion one out of a piece of pliable steel. I think it might be a case of experimenting until you find something that works. :(

I still love this marque and I will still be around, preferred selling to breaking, as a great runner and performer"

Make up a steel strap incorporating the bracket perhaps?

L shaped metal bracket with two holes in, one on each leg, drill straight through the aluminum arm and secure bracket to arm with nut and bolt.

I would think that if a hole through a suspension arm was a good idea the manufacturers would have done it in the first place !!!!!
Better to make up a thin steel bracket really to be on the safe side. :-| :-| :-|

6 to 7 mm hole in a cast alloy arm of that size would have no detremental effect on the structure of the arm. However, the extra cost of a nut and bolt may not be cost effective ;). Sometimes good idea and cost cancel each other out :)

Thanks for the positive ideas chaps :)

I've been dead lucky and discovered that Ben is able to fabricate the bracket / clip. In fact, the picture above is one of his and he's agreed to make me one :D

Cheers Ben :)
