Daewoo Lanos for Sale - NOW SOLD by PaulT

PaulT
1998 Daewoo Lanos 1.4 - SWMBOs car - seling because she now has a car with a Longship on its badge.

This is a one female non-smoking owner car currently showing 81,779 miles

It has an MOT until 02/03/2011 and tax until 28/02/2011 (nearly £100 worth)

The vehicle was fitted with 4 new tyres just before the MOT (81119 miles) and they have covered less than 1000 miles. In addition, the spare wheel has never been used.

The cambelt and tensioner were changed when I decided to change cars – reckoned that would be of keen interest to a buyer. A genuine Vauxhall kit (the engine is as fitted to certain Astra models) was used.

A new battery was fitted. The one on the car was getting very tired – it was the original so had not done too badly at 12 years old.

The car has never had any advisories at any of the MOTs and has only failed the MOT once – this was because the end of one of the rear springs had fractured – not an uncommon problem with cars nowadays due to all the speed bumps. Naturally, the springs on both sides were replaced.

The car has just been serviced.

The original radio cassette player is fitted but it does come with the special Daewoo fitment to enable after market stereos to be fitted.

Bodywork is good except for some of the paintwork on the bumpers and a crease on one side of the bodywork that looks as though it is part of the styling. Interior is extremely good. However, you are invited to inspect the vehicle to satisfy yourself as to its condition. Conveniently located 5 miles from junction 8 on the M25 – unless you live in Inverness 

The Road Fund Licence for these is only £125 and the insurance band is very low.

Daewoo is associated with GM and they are now marketed as Chevrolet. Vauxhall dealers supply parts etc.

If you are interested I can email photos - do not know how to attach them here.

£650.

This one had done well - Yve had owned it from new.

The chap who bought it seemed to indicate that it was a bargain - whether it was or not, very difficult to price an old car. Had been looking on eBay and some were going for very low money.

A little sorrow in Yves eye when it went but later in the day we took the dog for a walk and when we got back in the car it was very hot. The remark was made 'if you had a sunroof you could open it and all the hot air would go'. She now has a facelifted 45 - 6 years old and less than 9,500 miles when she bought it.

In this case the 45 air con - actually ATC (Automatic Temperature Control) - than the Lanos because that system comprised of twiddling the window winders :(
