A terrible event the cause of which is being speculated as the driver falling asleep.
Must be quite a dilemma for a coach driver when the eyelids start becoming heavy.......
As a car driver if I feel this coming on then I stop and have 20 minutes sleep. A lorry driver can do the same - but is no doubt under pressure to deliver by a certain time. However, a coach driver has umpteen passengers and perhaps cannot pull in to a rest area and have 20 minutes of shut eye.
Where the accident happened is farming country and not very scenic in the light let alone the dark, very little traffic to keep you occupied and running silently as everyone else will probably be asleep and the other driver in his bunk below so no one to talk to.
