Last March I brought a Pipercross airfilter for my ZT CDTi from ebay
Last week I was replacing the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve) filter so had the airbox cover off, checking the airfiler I found that the rubber part had split and that the rubber was delaminating with small chucks of it missing, undoubtably these would have passed past the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) on there way to the turbo, luckily no damage appears to have occured
I have no idea what had caused this, maybe the cold weather?, regardless of the reason I though I would post as a heads-up to others.
