I came across this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150615121885

My guess is a belt has gone pop. But you would have to budget in a new engine (perhaps) if you wanted to get her back on the road.

I thought that, a shame I currently don't quite have the funds to buy a car to fettle back into health. Maybe next month...

AA says the engine overheated......cracked thermostat housing most likely?
I have asked to go see it if it doesn't sell....bit late to see it before the end of the auction!

A bit optimistic in price, however think this would be your cup of tea Richard as opposed to a beige 75 :-p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p

Went to see this V6...genuine one owner. Undertray missing and tyres all at the minimum...engine totally cooked. Lots of toys on it and a lovely interior barring the driver's seat which had a big hole near the seatbelt buckle. The car also has a new clutch / dmf. Sadly, for me, I think it would need more money than I would want to risk to get it up to scratch...happily, an individual from Doncaster is going to get her...:)
