I have had two sets of belts done by Lates and Pete top work done both times, the only other guy I would look at would be Jules.

Not sure on the costs now but for belts and water pump I think your looking at £450/500

Not an impossible job to DIY. I won't be in a hurry to do it again though even though my assistant did most of the work.
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

I've seen the engine work Nick at Austin Garages does and it's very good.

Parts wise, we went for Dayco. They were listed as patent at Rimmers and half the price, although on later inspection, they were the same part. Definitely worth doing though, as lots of troubles if not.

How many belts are acutualy on a 2.5 V 190 i have had 3 arrive today but i am sure the big one is different to the one i have on already. The reason i am asking this is if you note the direction of the teeth on the belts the belt on my MG ZT V6 2.5 190 follow the belt and do not go across

Yes, you need the aux belt as well as the 3 timing ones.
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

As Bernard says, the one in your engine photo is the aux drive belt, the toothed belt that arrived is behind the plastic cover you can just see in the photo.

You're allowed to take pictures but you'll be lucky to get one of Mr L working ;)

Take plenty of biscuits and cake and be ready to play ball with the dog that won't leave you alone :)
