Watching that has made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, and brought a tear to my eye.

Looks very much like Wireless Ridge but it's been a long time since I was there so could be mistaken

Is that the Grippen or the Typhoon? I can tell which is which if next to each other but not on their own!

Typhoon I think, the Grippen has the two little front wings (tech speak) ;) slightly further back and more swept back.

Come on chaps Griffins? Them be RAF Typhoons, as stated, over the Falklands. Supported by a VC10 tanker on longer sorties.

ps The VC10 is to be retired this year but will be in attendance at RIAT RAF Fairford this July.

Cheers

Yup Typhoons.

On closer examintion these may be photoshopped to some degree, but nevertheless impressive.

Although a fantastic job ultimately boring I would guess? Same old scenery etc.. Does anyone know if they get "tested" simlar to Russian Bears over the North Sea during the Cold War, by any Argentinian forces?

Typhoon radar etc would pick them up and emit 'missile lock on'etc., which should deter the Argentinian Mirage fighter/bombers from coming into Falkland airspace. Mirage are 1960's technology, no match for 21st century Typhoons.

Corrin (Messenger)has the cockpit section of the prototype Super VC10, not on his mantlepiece though,

What is better than 4 Rolls Royce Conways in a Vulcan? 4 Rolls Royce Conways in a Vulcan with 8 Rolls Royce Conways in 2 VC10s.

I would have to concede that the Vulcan does look more graceful when displaying its slow-speed agility and one of its party tricks always puts a smile on my face.
