Auto gearbox fluid change by Bermudan 75

I want to change the fluid in my auto gearbox. The How To states that certain temperatures should be maintained during this process using a T4 (Testbook version 4.Computer Diagnostic System).

Is there any way of doing this without a T4 using a temperature sensor?

Cheers

The instructions for the S-Type auto transmission fluid change also specify a set temperature range using the Jaguar diagnostics.

The way I was shown was to use one of those proximity temperature measuring guns pointed at the transmission sump.

It worked perfectly and if you can't borrow one of those devices, they are available on fleabay for a tenner.

I find mine very useful since I bought it, for all sorts of tasks Mike.
