Just watched Fletch again on DVD, still makes me laugh out loud (it's me Dr Rosen Penis!!) but the question is this, what was the best film of the 80''s??
and second to that, what was Chevy Chases best film??

Love Chevy Chase in Spies Like Us with Dan Ackroyd

He's hilarious in European Vacation, makes me smile just thinking about it. :)

Agreed! Back to the Future is a great film. BTW Family Guy did a great parody of it, very funny

Some of my favourites :

Platoon
Airplane! (funny as hell)
Die Hard (cheesy but brilliant)
The Untouchables
Back To The Future (all three of them)
Purple Rose Of Cairo
Rain Man (top acting)
Nightmare on Elm Street (terrifyingly good!)
Arthur

Not among the best movies in the world by a long chalk (except maybe Rain Man), but for entertainment... top notch.

And I have to add (although it's not really a film, more of a 2 part TV miniseries), Stephen King's "IT" is a genuinely scary film.

Luv the 80's movies and the music and the clothes. :D

Got to be all the Brat-Pack movies.....

The Breakfast Club.
St. Elmo's Fire.
The Outsiders.
About Last Night.
Class.
Weird Science.
etc.

Emilio Estevez. Anthony Michael Hall. Rob Lowe. Demi Moore. Judd Nelson. Molly Ringwald. Ally Sheedy. Andrew McCarthy. Rob Lowe, etc! etc!

aaaarrrhhhh!
What about Corey Haim and Corey Feldmen? they were the boyz back in the 80's :D The Goonies and The Lost Boyz, etc!

But what about the Superman movies 1978 onwards :D simply excellent along with the Back To The Future movies.

But the best Movie has got to be........ The first Superman Movie but as that was made in 1978 I will opt for the Superman 2.

Oh! 'Flash Gordon' was another classic which I could watch over and over again, Sam J. Jones went on to do the Highwayman in the 90's, great American TV series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLLyS88_DB8 :D

Brian Blessed! what a hero.

oh! Dallas was / is still the best TV Series of all time.........
