Another tale... sort of. by Raistlin

I considered and granted an application at home for an out of hours search warrant recently and it was subsequently returned unexecuted.

The Police attempted to execute the warrant at 03:00 and successfully gained entry to the premises, a private house where firearms were said to be stored. The householder then instructed his partner to switch off the main electricity switch in the cupboard under the stairs.

The Police were unable to carry out a thorough search because they didn't have sufficient torches.

The householder was adamant that he would not allow the Police use of his electricity and as a result they were left with no alternative but to abandon the search.

Well... that's a new one on me

Tescos is open 24 hours could not the police have popped down there and bought some torches? Probably needed triple authorisation to buy them.

Can imagine the cover up if there had been firearms and they had then been used.

Perhaps the police could be issued with glow worms.
