Update on this now folks.

First instance of an acronym in a thread is translated into the full description. Each instance thereafter is left intact bar a little mouse-hover box should you hover your mouse over the acronym. Some acronyms may now also feature clickable links to sources either on this website or on third-party websites for further reading on a particular subject. Any suggested links for further reading will be vetted by the admin team before being inserted into the acronyms database. Thanks

In my job ETOPS rated airliners.....777 etc...it means EXTENDED TWIN ENGINED OPERATIONS................we prefer to think along the lines of:

ENGINES TURNING OR PASSENGERS SWIMMING!!!!!!!!!!!
