So a replacement for the Rover has been found at a large dealership having looked at a number of cars. Yve and I agreed this is the one so to start negotiating. Right the salesman said the car is £x plus £99 admin charge and that was the cue for me to explode. I do not go to buy a TV and the ticket says, say, £600 and the dealer then says ‘that is plus £30 admin charge’.

Now, whilst it seems to be coming more common at dealers and, indeed when they buy your car they charge an admin fee. Surely, this is a case of false advertising by making the car look cheaper than it is in reality because of the admin charge.

Planning is an unnatural process, much better to just get on with things, that way failure comes as a complete surprise instead of being preceeded by a period of worry and doubt

The order form still showed the admin charge but we paid the window price of the car to include the admin charge, years RFL, service and delivery (Ashford Kent to a long way up in Lincolnshire)
