By the way. Mr Hyde has asked me to point out that Raistlin is one of our highly valued Tech people and Mr Hyde himself is actually the third 'Founder' for 75 & ZT Enthusiasts. :D

Of that Carl I have no doubt, but intentions are ofter completely at odds with outcomes. Just my opinion and I really would like you to proved me wrong but, so far, what I have described is what has happened in the end.

So far, the evidence suggests that what we are trying to do is entirely possible, manageable and workable - the will certainly exists to make it happen and to make it a positive development.

I didn't realise 'Christopher', (whoever that is) invented the English language, or some of it's more common sayings??? To be absolutely clear, I'm a little bewildered.

Well, I will say one thing, I think it is absolutely clear that the 'new' site is getting a lot of publicity! What do they say; "Any Publicity is Good Publicity".... Or was that another 'christopherism'?

Members of here who generously give advice on the other forum may well disagree.

they may well, disagree, how ever, the banning wand strikes too often and to the detriment of the oc members, any way, i for one think the ethos of the enthusiasts site is spot on and will run in line with the OC, it's weather they are receptive to the idea, i wont hold much hope on that one

Enough of picking on Christopher, please refrain from commenting about a fellow enthusiast who is not and is never likely to be here to defend their position, (although welcome to register ;) ). Argue among yourselves as much as you like, bugger I've almost run out of popcorn. ;)

Friendly discourse surely :)

My use of "argue" in this sense. [reporting verb] "give reasons or cite evidence in support of an idea, action, or theory, typically with the aim of persuading others to share one's view:"
Otherwise I would have used the more colloquial to "row". If it were not a friendly discourse. :)

I have signed up and fully agree with the new clubs ethos and aims, plus I have gotten rather tired of all the divisive arguments on the OC Club and the reaction of the management to genuine concerns.

If I may be so bold as to agree.

This new 'forum' is an absolutely fantastic idea. The aim of keeping our cars on the road for many years to come will become even more important as time diminishes the numbers of 75/ZTs.

Work done now will be vital to achieve this aim, the founders should be applauded for their vision in creating this new forum.

I recently attended a symposium on the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the VC10 aircraft. The RAF engineers said that one of the main problems they are having is that the diminishing expertise and skills to remanufacture spares is having a detrimental effect on keeping the fleet in the air.

I would wish any new venture or enterprise good luck, especially one with the mind set as described. I can imagine the energy and commitment expended in planning and set up, not to mention on-going work. In my case however I would like entry to a site before registration - unfortunately not possible on this new venture. Or at least not in my case. I tried but could not get past the ’registration’ page. To me, that’s far too controlling. Smacks of a rather obvious black ball. Unless I’ve got it wrong of course, eminently possible! Best of luck though, I hope all goes well.

On another topic.
Before I joined ‘community’ I visited the site many times seeking an alternative /addition to my then existing habits. It appeared moderate (small m), measured and gentlemanly. Contributors refrained from ’slagging off’ others and there seemed a definite intent not to allow contamination from other sites to gain ground here, although there were many ’private jokes’ going way over my head which I assumed would become clear eventually. Sadly not so!

In this thread alone there have been repeated disparaging comments about another club, both general and personal, and it seems to be largely condoned. There are many members on here who also are members elsewhere and never see the need to refer to former clubs in a negative way, but the incidence of accusatory, challenging or mocking references in that direction is beginning to increase. Amazing how it spreads, isn’t there a vaccination one can take? If one must vent one’s spleen at earlier and elsewhere perceived slights, kindly write yourself a letter and avoid disembowelment here!
